Communications Director
The Communications Director is responsible to promote ICF Austin, our members and ICF credentialing, in partnership with the board and their volunteer committees. Coordinating and/or maintaining any chapter communications including presence on the ICF - Greater Austin chapter website, emails to members, coaching community, and social media.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social media presence; Facebook public and private, Twitter and LinkedIn, with the assistance of ICF Monday Twitter Ambassador email and other innovative engagement such as photos from events, marketing Monday, monthly focus topics
- Creative ideas to increase engagement of all stakeholder through communication
- Recommended attend Monthly Chapter meetings and network with members
- Board Retreat(s): 1 board retreats, typically 4-6 hours of fun, planning, contribution, and celebration
- Monthly Virtual Board Meeting every second Monday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Central Time with board report due by the previous Friday on Google Drive
Responsibilities, in partnership with appropriate board members
- Website Content; page creation, content, updates, event postings (e.g., Programs), design and navigation in conjunction with the board
- Event posting on Facebook public page as an “event”
- Chapter Emails to members and contacts, as required and directed by board members
- Technology supporting communication process to increase efficiency with board and membership communications (e.g. MeisterTask)
- Support monthly meeting check-in process in conjunction with Treasury (may be more appropriate on Treasury role description)
Process Areas to Expand Impact
- Assistance on internal board communication processes
- Takes the lead on communications-related projects such as website update and content creation/management
- Manage generic email addresses to allow for easy transfer between board member transitions (Go Daddy free email forwarding addresses)
Potential Enhancements for Membership Engagement
- Collaborate on alternative meeting modalities; tele-conference, webinar, etc.
- Coordinate monthly value-added content article via social media posting
- Oversee a newsletter including design, content and frequency and purpose.
- Coordinate monthly Featured Member article (e.g. Membership driven)
- Coordination of blog posting from membership (e.g. Membership driven)
Skills Recommended
- Familiar with or willing to learn Buffer (social media automation)
- Comfort with or willing to learn Wild Apricot or other similar pre-packaged web delivery software (Wild Apricot Tech support and online tutorials are exceptional)
- Comfort with Google Drive and Docs
- Willing to use task management tool: Meistertask
- Estimated Time Involvement: 10 – 14 hrs/month (varies based on projects and the person's unique passionate commitment)
