Coaching for Self-Actualization

EVENT DESCRIPTION

In this session, participants will learn about the Maslow North Star Coaching Framework developed by Timothy Tiryaki. The North Star Framework is based on humanistic and existential psychology foundations and is used to understand Self-Actualization: the exploration of who you are and who you can be. Tim will dive into the interrelated nature of the North Star Framework and the Theory of Motivation and Needs, as well as the concept of horizontal and vertical questions. After this session, participants will be better equipped to reach their own North Star and understand the importance of re-envisioning Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in the workplace.

You’ll learn to:

Participants will understand the concept of the North Star Framework and how it applies to coaching.
Participants will also improve their understanding of the theory of motivation and needs and build a stronger language to express needs, show empathy to understand the needs of others, and ask better questions to explore needs.
Participants will understand vertical and horizontal questions, why they are important and how to use them.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Timothy is the founder and CEO of Maslow Leadership and a global expert at the intersection of organizational culture and coaching. He holds seven coaching certificates and is currently writing his PhD thesis on wise leadership for organizations.

With vast experience in marketing, sales, and HR at large organizations such as Procter & Gamble, Intel, and Index Group, he has coached C-level leaders and taught at Bogazici University Lifelong Learning Center, Global Knowledge Canada, and Simon Fraser University.

Timothy spoke at the 2021 Converge Conference on Culture Coaching: The Missing Link in Executive Coaching and will be presenting at the 2023 Converge Conference as well.
