Biography
Dr. Lopez is an educator, coach, international trainer and community leader. She is recognized by her students, clients and colleagues for her dynamic facilitation style and insightful questions. Her engaging style, authentic connections and vision have inspired men and women across the United States, and now across the globe, to identify their best self and brand that "secret sauce" to influence the work they do.
Her career and leadership roles have spanned nearly 30 years in a variety of positions within higher education ranging from adjunct faculty to student affairs administrator. In 2016, she formed her own coaching and consulting company, Next Gen Latinos, LLC. Her clients include entrepreneurs, executive leaders, non-profit organizations, institutions of higher educaiton and corporate teams. She is a natural-born facilitator and coach who has leveraged the Fascination Advantage® to deliver her clients strategic leadership, through cutting-edge collaboration. She is also a Certified Team Coach and a Certified Story Facilitator with Leadership Story Lab.
As a volunteer, Dr. López has held leadership roles with organizations such as the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation Board of Directors, Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hays Education Foundation. She is also a former elected official, having served on the Kyle City Council (two years as Mayor Pro Tem) and the Hays CISD Board of Trustees.
At present, she is actively involved in various ministries at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, assisting at her son’s school and championing women leaders as a co-founder of TXwHEART, an organization which supports personal and professional development of women staff in higher education.
A native Texan, originally from Fort Worth, she earned a B.S. in Government with a minor in Spanish from Texas Woman’s University. She also received an M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance, with an emphasis in College Student Affairs from Texas State University. Her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration is from Texas A&M University. Dr. López has also completed certifications as a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) from MentorCoach® LLC and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is also ICF and EMCC certified in Team Coaching. Dr. López and her husband currently reside in Central Texas, along with their son.
