Clearing the Path to a Coaching Presence

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Abstract:
In Clearing the Path to a Coaching Presence, participants learn NICE!, a distraction-management technique to help coaches manage self-doubt, worry, advice-giving, impatience, and other thoughts and tendencies that rob their client-centered presence. Inspired by the core competency: Maintains Presence, NICE! incorporates tools from Internal Family Systems (IFS) “Parts Work” and mindfulness, to enable the coach to seamlessly refocus their full attention on the client, elevating the coaching experience.

Learning Objectives:

Participants learn how to:

Identify personal distractors
Shift from distracted to client-focused without disruption
Be transparent when unable to regain presence

This presentation has been delivered at ICF Converge23, ICF-CT, and a variety of coaching cohorts with consistently positive response.
