BOARD OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2026

Each Board role plays a unique part in moving the chapter forward. Below are more specific descriptions of how each Board role contributes to the overall leadership of the chapter.

In addition to the information detailed below, All roles benefit from familiarity with tools such as Excel, Word, Gmail, Wild Apricot, and Google Docs (and QuickBooks for Treasurer). The Directors of Communication, Community Outreach, Membership, and Programs also recruit and lead committees, offering members opportunities to engage, contribute, and grow as leaders.

President

Impact: Provide strategic vision and oversight, ensuring the chapter’s growth, influence, and alignment with ICF Global.

Ideal Candidate: A visionary leader who excels in guiding teams, stewarding resources, and representing the chapter on regional and global stages.

Additional Requirement: Must have served on an ICF Chapter Board for at least one year.

Key Contributions:

  • Lead board and chapter meetings with focus and clarity.
  • Oversee and support all directors and committees.
  • Manage contracts, finances, and compliance.
  • Represent the chapter with ICF Global and regional leaders.
  • Guide strategic planning, retreats, and board development.
  • Executive Role: Serves with President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer as the Executive Committee.

President-Elect (Vice President)

Impact: Strengthen chapter leadership continuity while actively supporting the President and Board.

Ideal Candidate: A collaborative leader eager to learn, support, and prepare to step into the President’s role.

Additional Requirement: Serve in a Board Role or on a Committee for one year.

Key Contributions:

  • Partner closely with the President to ensure follow-through on board initiatives.
  • Represent the chapter when the President is unavailable.
  • Deepen engagement with members, affiliates, and regional partners.
  • Support smooth, effective board operations.
  • Executive Role: Serves on the Executive Committee with President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Secretary

Impact: Ensure transparency and continuity by maintaining the official records that shape board decisions and chapter history.

Ideal Candidate: A detail-oriented professional who values accuracy, communication, and governance.

Key Contributions:

  • Prepare agendas and compile reports.
  • Record and distribute minutes and action items.
  • Organize board meetings, retreats, and workshops.
  • Support the organization and professionalism of chapter events.
  • Executive Role: Serves on the Executive Committee with President, President-Elect, and Treasurer.

Treasurer

Impact: Safeguard the chapter’s financial health with integrity and foresight.

Ideal Candidate: A financially skilled leader with knowledge of QuickBooks and an interest in organizational stewardship.

Key Contributions:

  • Oversee accounts, reporting, and annual filings.
  • Ensure timely compliance, tax filings, and payments.
  • Lead the budgeting process and maintain financial policies.
  • Provide transparent reporting to the board and members.
  • Executive Role: Serves on the Executive Committee with President, President-Elect, and Secretary.

Business Alliance Director

Impact: Expand coaching’s presence across Central Texas by cultivating high-value partnerships.

Ideal Candidate: A well-connected business professional who can serve as a trusted liaison between the chapter and the broader community, raising the visibility of ICF professional coaches.

Key Contributions:

  • Forge relationships with corporations, nonprofits, and government leaders.
  • Develop sponsorships and collaborative initiatives that benefit members.
  • Share community leads ethically and strategically.
  • Build and guide the Business Alliance Committee.

Community Outreach Director

Impact: Demonstrate the transformative power of coaching through visible, service-driven initiatives.

Ideal Candidate: A relationship-builder with a passion for service who enjoys connecting coaches to meaningful opportunities.

Key Contributions:

  • Design and coordinate pro bono coaching programs.
  • Partner with local nonprofits to create lasting community impact.
  • Track and report volunteer contributions.
  • Inspire and lead the Outreach Committee.
